Recently, the relationship between police and the communities they serve has become the focus of intense scrutiny, conversation and even protest. The issue is difficult to talk about—and yet, we must, or this issue could tear our communities apart. 

The following announcement and call for proposals is from Jennifer Domagal-Goldman at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). The conference will be held from June 7-10, 2017, in Baltimore, Maryland. Deadline to submit a proposal is January 30, 2017.

Moderating National Issues Forums Institute (NIFI) forums is a great way to delve more deeply into what is concerning people.  Some forums, however, seem to tap into concerns that are much more universal than others.  A November, 2016, forum focused on "Health Care: How Can We Reduce Costs and Still Get the Care We Need?" is an example of one such issue.
