The David Mathews Center for Civic Life Announces Launch of "What's Next Alabama?" Statewide Forums Project

The David Mathews Center for Civic Life, based in Montevallo, Alabama, has announced that it is launching a statewide public deliberative forums project called What's Next Alabama? Alabama Issues Forums 2017-19: Pilot in Cullman
The DMC is thrilled to announce the launch of a pilot program in Cullman County for our upcoming Alabama Issues Forums (AIF) Series, entitled "What's Next, Alabama?" (WNAL). Beginning in early 2017, the series will bring together Alabamians from rural, urban, and suburban areas to explore the current state of economic vitality in their communities, where they want to be, and how to get there.
The final report on the series in 2019 will coincide with Alabama's Bicentennial year. Our hope is that the series will reflect a variety of regional experiences throughout our state, and ultimately give rise to community-created solutions for ensuring Alabama's economic prosperity in the next two hundred years.
