Rising Above the Political Divide with Updraft America

Let's rise above the political divide! Join me for a special evening.
On September 15th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the American University's
Katzen Museum in Washington, DC,
ABC News political commentator Cokie Roberts will spotlight individuals and organizations working to end political gridlock and move America forward.
Guests will include:
Francine Kiefer, Congressional Correspondent of The Christian Science
Monitor,
Nomika Konst, political analyst and The Hill contributor,
Rebecca Cooper, Executive-in-Residence
Bridge Alliance member guests will include:
Laquan Austion of Action for America,
Brad Fitch of Congressional Management Foundation,
Carolyn J. Lukensmeyer of National Institute for Civil Discourse,
David Nevins of Bridge Alliance and Nevins Democracy
Leadership Program
These efforts will be highlighted amidst an art installation of 10,718 paper airplanes folded from a year's subscription to the Congressional Record, the official transcript of the United States Congress. They are striped red or blue to connote bitter partisan politics, but as the uppermost planes rise, as if taking flight, their hues combine to become purple - the color of reason. Visit UpdraftAmerica.Org. If you will be in the Washington DC area and would like to attend this event, please RSVP to Jennifer Kopac at jkopac@email.arizona.edu. Space is limited and seats are filling up quickly!
