National Issues Forums has been named finalist in this year’s Civvy Awards with involvement in two of the six national initiatives selected.  A virtual awards ceremony will be held on Monday, April 19th, 2021 from 7-8 p.m. ET during which the winners will be announced.  All are invited to register to watch the ceremony.

With the People is an ongoing initiative that encourages sustained practices of public deliberation of public issues on campuses and communities across the country.  Coordinated by the National Issues Forums Institute, With the People involves a dynamic and growing coalition of national partners: ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge: Civic Nation, The American Democracy Project, Campus Compact, Kettering Foundation, NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation, National Institutes for Historically Underserved Students, National Issues Forums Institute, Project Pericles, and Up to Us.

Hidden Common Ground has been an effort to uncover areas of agreement among Americans on pressing public problems, including political divisiveness, health care, immigration, and rebuilding the economy. A partnership initiative developed prior to the election of 2020, Public Agenda, USA TODAY, National Issues Forums, the Kettering Foundation and the America Amplified public radio network highlighted opportunities for people across the country to deliberate and exchange ideas about issues.

In its fourth year (and what a year!) the American Civic Collaboration Awards continues to highlight outstanding initiatives working to collaborate across divides at the national, local and youth levels. In light of the events of 2020 that have gripped our nation - from the spread of a deadly virus to the murder of George Floyd to a highly polarized election season - the 2020 Civvys Awards focus more pointedly on those efforts at the national, local and youth levels that work toward greater equity, diversity and inclusion.
