You are invited to participate in a conversation about income inequality in America.

The emergence of “anti-establishment” presidential candidates as leaders in both major political parties reflects a serious malaise among American voters. Many people are feeling the failure of the economy to work for them, even as they work harder just to stay in place. The growing income gap between the wealthy and the majority is contributing to political and social alienation as well as economic frustration for many.

What can we do as a nation in response? We want to hear from you.

There will be no experts lecturing us. Moderators will ensure a civil and constructive deliberation, without influencing the outcome. We will structure our conversation according to the National Issues Forum Discussion Guide entitled, Making Ends Meet: How Should We Spread Prosperity and Improve Opportunity? The issue guide offers three approaches for our consideration:

*Create new opportunities for people to start new enterprises;
*Strengthen the safety net so that individuals and families adversely affected by the unequal economy are protected from falling into homelessness and hunger; or
*Reduce Inequality through policies to close the income gap.

Results of this conversation will be reported to the National Issues Forum Institute, which will prepare a report for distribution to national leaders from the first hundred forums, including ours, conducted around the country.

Space is limited, so please register by Monday, March 21, 2016.

To ensure a lively conversation, please read our issue guide before the forum. You can download the issue guide, Making Ends Meet, from the National Issues Forum Institute website.
