About the Role
We’re seeking a Program Coordinator who will support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of NIFI programs and initiatives. This person will be at the heart of our program operations—ensuring that NIFI’s national network of partners, campuses, and communities have the tools, training, and support they need to talk, decide, and act together.
The Program Coordinator is highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator who thrives on managing logistics, supporting partnerships, and contributing to programs that strengthen civic life.
This is a full-time, exempt remote role with occasional travel for program support. Some evening or weekend hours may be needed during intensive program periods. NIFI prioritizes employee well-being and provides reasonable accommodations to support flexible, safe working conditions.
What You’ll Do
Program Support & Coordination
- Assist in planning and implementing NIFI programs, workshops, and events (both virtual and in-person).
- Coordinate logistics, scheduling, registration, and materials distribution.
- Provide direct support for initiatives such as America’s Next 250, deliberative workshops, and the NIFI Fellows Program.
Partner & Network Engagement
- Serve as a primary point of contact for community partners, program participants, and forum conveners.
- Support the cultivation of relationships with NIFI’s national network, including community organizations, campuses, and civic leaders.
- Maintain accurate records of partner engagement and program participation.
Program Resources & Evaluation
- Assist in preparing and updating NIFI’s deliberative resources, issue guides, and training materials.
- Collect and analyze participant feedback and program evaluation data.
- Support reporting for funders, partners, and the NIFI Board of Directors.
Communications & Outreach (Program Focused)
- Draft and distribute program-related communications such as invitations, reminders, and follow-up messages.
- Provide content for newsletters, blogs, and social media highlighting program activities.
- Ensure that program communications are timely, accurate, and aligned with NIFI’s brand.
Administrative & Team Support
- Track program budgets and expenses, ensuring alignment with grant requirements and organizational policies.
- Maintain databases, files, and digital archives related to programs.
- Provide additional support to the Executive Director and staff team as needed.
Who You Are
- A thoughtful organizer with 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit, civic engagement, or program coordination roles.
- Skilled in managing logistics, communications, and partner relationships.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with productivity tools (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, Zoom) and open to learning new platforms
- Knowledgeable or curious about civic engagement, deliberative democracy, or community development
- Ready to grow with an organization that values experimentation, creativity, and connection.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
- Committed to NIFI’s nonpartisan mission and values.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public administration, political science, communications, education, or a related area is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
- Work Environment: Fully remote, collaborative, mission-driven
- Salary: $50,000–$60,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Benefits:
