My name is Christian Howard and I am from Houston, Texas. As a citizen of the United States of America I am addressing an issue of the American responsibility. Americans should take full responsibility in respecting and obeying federal, state, and local laws. 

For instance, obeying and respecting any law in the United States is very important. If we have Americans who don’t follow these laws our nation will be complete chaos. So therefore, if our society starts to change and we see new court cases that we never seen or heard of before then we need to update the laws and make them more specific. Like Theodore Roosevelt stated, “Obedience of the law is demanded; not asked as a favor.” However, we can’t determine which law to follow in the court room if we don’t have a law for that specific case. 

As you can see, our society is changing little by little. Laws should be updated frequently to adjust to this generation and many more. Americans have to respect and obey all laws but some of these laws are letting Americans walk away guilty. We as citizens of the United States of America should not let this happen and we need to take in responsibility and make new laws for the American people.
