Hello! My name is Brittany. Currently, I am a student at Hillsborough Community College studying Liberal Arts & Sciences. On April 13, 2016, in collaboration with the HCC Honors Institute and Virginia Tech University Honors, a student committee and I will hold a deliberative forum on the following topic: How Can We Stop Mass Shootings in Our Communities? This being the first deliberative forum to be held at Hillsborough Community College, it has been an exciting and education process putting together the event. The entire HCC community is invited, including students, faculty, and staff. By holding a deliberative forum, the student committee and I hope to set direction for future public policies and legislative action and, in addition, plant the seed for more deliberative forums in the future.
